Raven Consulting Group provides business management support to the Federation for the Advancement of Victorian eResearch (FAVeR) including its Steering Group and Working Groups.
Initially, this involved supporting the early establishment phase of the FAVeR, including ensuring the eight partners (Deakin University, Federation University Australia, La Trobe University, Monash University, RMIT University, Swinburne University, Victoria University and the University of Melbourne) understood and achieved the milestones required of them and providing key (quarterly and annual) reports back to the DVCRs. With FAVeR now up and running, our role focuses on development activities and identifying areas and opportunities for growth (including collaborative workshops, projects and grants).
FAVeR is a network of member universities dedicated to enhancing the coordination of eResearch initiatives across Victorian universities. FAVeR allows all Victorian universities to be involved in the eResearch community regardless of their size, capacity or capability.
FAVeR’s mission is to provide strategic direction, information and coordination to the university-based Victorian eResearch sector. FAVeR works to provide a framework to consider sustainability of services, and to simplify awareness of and access to critical eResearch services and infrastructure.
FAVeR facilitates sharing of eResearch services and infrastructure across member organisations; supports capacity and capability building for all organisations, and assists organisations to initiate and promote ideas for new eResearch services in Victoria.
In 2016, as FAVeR became operational, Raven Consulting Group's role was redefined to providing high-level support in the areas of Project and Business Management. We have played a key role in developing the FAVeR website (commissioning as well as content management), we have also helped engage FAVeR in establishing a newsletter and its formal launch at the eResearch Australasia 2106 Conference.
